Methodology for data collection

To be able to control for fluctuations in exchange rates and other changes in fee structures, all information for Sending Money Home products are collected once a month on the same day.  This makes it possible to compare the services and calculate the full costs with reference to the same interbank exchange rate.

The information collected on the same day:

• Inter-bank exchange rates (IBR) are downloaded by Finansportalen from Oanda, www.oanda.com
• Exchange rates, fees for the sender, delivery times and if obtainable, fees for the receiver are collected from the service providers webpage or over the phone.

Presented cost of money transfers services

With the Sending money home solution the users gets the opportunity to compare the costs of money transfer services provided by different suppliers. The total costs include the fee for the sender and the exchange rate cost. The fees for the receiver, if obtainable, are presented in the Show details section.
